THE FIRST 25 DRIVERS TO ENTER THE 15K TO WIN SHORTTRACK SHOOTOUT HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN FREE HOOSIER RACING TIRES! There is a mandatory driver preregistration for the $15,000.00 to win 14th Annual Short Track Shootout. The driver entry for the October 10th Short Track Shootout is NOW OPEN. Text your driver’s name, car number, hometown/state and email address to the race office at 559-507-9931. The pre-entry list will set the qualifying order and lock in the guaranteed purse. The entry is also used for television production purposes. Once we hit 25 drivers on the entry list, the first 25 drivers to enter will go into a drawing for the free Hoosier 970 racing tires to use at the event. This contest will result in two drivers winning two Hoosier 970 tires each after the entry populates with 25 drivers. A total of four (4) Hoosier 970’s will be given away once the entry list reaches 25 cars. Details such as the race purse breakdown, race procedures, total number of tires allowed, fuel allowed, and RV/Hotel information will be emailed to the email address provided by the team entering. The purse for 36 or more cars is $40,200.00, the purse for a 20-car field is $32,070.00. Enter today by texting your driver’s name, car number, hometown/state and email address to the race office at 559-507-9931. How to make the race – There will be 24 starting positions available in each of the three 50 lap main events. The fastest 16 cars from qualifying will lock into the starting grid for each of the three main events. Positions 17-20th will come from a 25-lap B main. Positions 21-24th will come from provisionals available to drivers that are in the top 10 in the 2026 Mission Late Model point standings. Unused provisional starting positions will be available to drivers that fail to qualify that are in the top five in the 2026 51FIFTY Jr Late Model driver’s points standings. Drivers finishing 5th and back in the B main will go into standby positions for the second and third 50 lap main events. How to enter the event – There is a mandatory driver preregistration for the $15,000.00 to win 14th Annual Short Track Shootout. The car entry fee is $300 per car and will be paid at the track the weekend of the event. Madera Speedway Race Procedures Starts and Restarts – The race will start when the green flag is thrown as the front row cars get into the start box in the turn four area. The goal is to have the front row even while in the start box to get the green flag. If the front row does not get a green flag they will only get one second attempt at a good start. If there is a second consecutive no start the front row will be moved to the second row for the next start. The "Choose" rule (Cone Rule) for all restarts. Drivers will pick the low or high lane for a restart when the cars are instructed to double up at the start/finish line. Caution Flag Procedures: When the Caution Flag is displayed, you are to slow down in a safe manner and proceed with caution back to the start/finish line single file. No Racing or Passing. Stay in Line. Violators are subject to penalty. Your restart position will be the position you were in the previous completed lap unless you are deemed to be involved in the incident that brought out or led to the yellow flag being displayed. If you are directed by Race Control to correct your on-track position, you must do so within 2 laps, or you will be penalized 1 lap and will no longer be eligible for a Lucky Dog. If you are involved in an incident causing a caution flag you will be sent to the rear of the field. Caution Flag laps may be counted if we deem necessary. Involvement: If you are deemed to be the cause of an incident or involved with it, you will be placed to the very rear of the Field. Cars may be parked if charged with causing 3 on track incidents. Rough driving will not be tolerated as well as any retaliation. Depending on the incident, you may be parked, issued a fine, and penalized. Lap Down Cars: All lap down cars will be moved to the rear on all restarts. There will be a Lucky Dog on every yellow flag giving one driver the least number of laps down, one lap back and putting them to the very rear of the field unless the eligible car was involved in the yellow flag incident. ALL LAP DOWN CARS ARE DIRECTED TO STAY ON THE TOP/HIGHSIDE OF THE TRACK when being passed by the leaders of the race. Note, the penalty for a driver intentionally drawing a caution flag is one (1) lap. A driver will be placed one lap down and they will lose the opportunity to use a lucky dog. Blue Flag; Blue flag means move over; the leaders are coming. Follow the Flagman’s direction and move to the top of the Racetrack. Make sure you hold your line. Use hand signals to notify Drivers of your intentions Black Flag: Black flag pointed at you is a warning regarding your actions on the track. If it is displayed, you must go to the pits within 3 laps (note, if the black flag is used on a restart for the second-place car they must drop back to the third position) Red Flag: Red flag means stop in a safe manner and follow Track Officials directions. Only Cars in the Hot Pits may be worked on. Yellow/Checkered Finish - The race will finish under green; Except in the case that the leader has taken the White Flag and the yellow is displayed during the White Flag, the field is frozen, do not pass and proceed safely back to the start finish line and the finishing order is final, cars will be scored in the position they held when the yellow was displayed (except for those involved). If that relative position could not be determined, they would be scored in the order those cars in question crossed the finish line on their last completed green flag lap, those involved in the caution or those cars that cannot proceed at that point will be positioned accordingly. Hot Pits: If you enter the Pits for any reason you will restart at the rear of the Field. Tires: Each team will have six marked tires they are allowed to use in the three 50 lap main events. The tires must be inspected and marked by track officials prior to qualifying. Only marked tires will be allowed on a car for qualifying. If a team is caught using an unmarked tire in any of the three races it will result in a disqualification. 1. The 1st 50 lap main event line-up will be set by an invert of 4, 6, 8, 10 after a draw by a fan in the stands when qualifying is finished. The second 50 lap race will be a complete invert of the field based on the finishing order in the first 50 lap main event. The third 50 lap race will be a complete invert of the field based on the finishing order in the second 50 lap main event 2. Teams can work on their race cars on the starting grid all the way up until the time the cars roll off the grid for the first segment without penalty, or position loss. 3. Teams can work on their cars at the race break, they may change anything they want but they can only use the six marked tires in the three 50 lap races. A team may work on the car during the 10-minute break before they roll off for the start of the second segment without penalty, or loss of position. 4. If a car is worked on by the pit crew after the cars have rolled off for either the first segment, or second segment, then the car must re-enter the race at the rear of the field. The only exception to this is for a safety item the MADERA SPEEDWAY HEAD SAFETY OFFICAL would assist with at the start finish line in victory lane, such as a seat belt issue, head and neck restraint issue, or a window net issue. 5. Championship points are awarded for the main 1st 50 lap main event with 50 points going to the race winner, 48 for second, 46 for third and so on... There are no bonus points for the segment leaders in this race. There are points for qualifying, 4, 3, 2, 1, for the top four cars.
